About this opportunity

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), acting on behalf of the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital under the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, has issued a Special Notice of its intent to award a sole source contract to Biosense Webster for Accelerated Solutions Agreement (ASA) maintenance services. This procurement covers maintenance and software support for Carto3, TruPulse, and nGEN medical equipment. The contract is being pursued as a sole source acquisition under 41 U.S.C. 1901 simplified acquisition procedures because Biosense Webster is the only authorized vendor qualified to service these machines, and no other source can satisfy the hospital's requirements. This Special Notice represents sustainment of an existing service rather than a new acquisition. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a $34.0 million business size standard.

Interested vendors who believe they can meet the requirements may submit written notification to Contracting Officer Joni Dorr at joni.dorr@va.gov by 10:00 AM Central Time on Friday, April 10, 2026. Any submission must include supporting evidence demonstrating the vendor's capability to perform the work, including a letter from the original equipment manufacturer confirming the vendor's status as an authorized service provider per VAAR Clause 852.212-71(c). The contract will be structured as a firm fixed price agreement with a one-year base period and two optional one-year renewals. No solicitation documents are available, and telephone inquiries will not be accepted. The government reserves sole discretion to determine whether to compete this procurement based on responses received and may proceed with the sole source award to Biosense Webster regardless of any submissions received.
