About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration is seeking vendors to conduct phase monitoring for boilers 1 & 3 at the Hershel Woody Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. The procurement involves furnishing and installing #16 thin wiring, conduit, hardware, 16 current transformers (CTs), 16 relays, and associated wire terminations, with an emphasis on reusing existing conduit where possible. Interested vendors must submit their responses by February 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET, providing details about their business, socioeconomic status, capability statement, and available contract vehicles. The VA is conducting market research to develop the acquisition strategy and determine the most appropriate procurement approach. Vendors must demonstrate their ability to self-perform or manage subcontractors while complying with applicable limitations on subcontracting.
The pre-solicitation notice does not specify a specific set-aside designation, indicating the opportunity may be open to various business types. The contract requires completion of work within 14 days of award, with services to be performed during normal business hours (8 AM - 4:30 PM). While no specific award value is mentioned, the scope suggests a relatively focused and time-limited project in the Facilities Support Services (NAICS 561210) and Equipment Maintenance (PSC J044) categories. Contractors must meet specific requirements, including providing employees knowledgeable of industry standards, maintaining constant on-site communication, and adhering to VA security protocols such as obtaining contractor identification badges. The project will be managed by Contracting Officer John Ritter, who will use the submitted responses to refine the procurement requirements and potential acquisition strategy.
