The contracting authority is based on FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), which permits sole source awards under the simplified acquisition threshold when only one source is reasonably available. This pre-solicitation notice serves to fulfill synopsis requirements and determine if competitive procurement would be in the government's best interest rather than requesting competitive quotes. This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and the intended sole source contractor is SDV Office Systems, LLC operating as SDV Medical. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 339112 for Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing and PSC code 6515 for Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. The government has emphasized that responses should be complete and detailed enough to demonstrate organizational qualifications for supplying the required medical products. Organizations are advised that the government has no obligation to acknowledge receipt of information or provide feedback, and no proprietary or sensitive information should be included in responses.
