The National Park Service Pacific West Region seeks installation and connection of fiber optic infrastructure at Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve in Idaho, with quotations due June 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time. Place of performance is 18 miles southwest of Arco, Idaho on U.S. Highway 20/26. The scope includes approximately 19 miles of fiber optic cable installation with 8 connections to designated park buildings originating from a service connection point in Arco. The contractor must install minimum 24-strand, single-mode cable inside conduit with full terminations, splicing, labeling, testing, and certification of all fiber strands. Installation methods are plowing in existing disturbed corridors and horizontal directional boring in paved areas, road crossings, and sensitive resource zones. The contractor is responsible for coordinating permits, traffic control plans, and 811 utility locates. Work must be completed within 100 days following notice to proceed, with performance scheduled from June 22, 2026, to September 25, 2026.

Quoters must be registered in SAM, hold current Idaho Construction Contractors Board licensing, and provide relevant experience documentation for similar projects completed in the past five years, technical approach narratives, and past performance references. Davis-Bacon wage rates apply under Wage Determination ID20260111. The contractor must provide liability insurance of $500,000 per person/occurrence and $500,000 property damage, workers' compensation coverage, site-specific safety and health plans, and daily logs documenting work performed. Buy American requirements apply to construction materials. Award will be made to the responsible quoter offering best value considering price, relevant experience, state licensing, technical approach, and past performance.
