About this opportunity
The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI) and U.S. Army Product Lead Special Ammunition and Weapon Systems (PdL SAWS) issued this Special Notice to announce an Industry Engagement Event scheduled for March 24-25, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn Rockaway in New Jersey. This notice informs potential contractors about an upcoming industry day designed to discuss the acquisition strategy for Special Ammunition and Weapons Systems, including contract structure, proposal submission requirements, and evaluation methodologies. The event includes both a general session and one-on-one vendor breakout sessions, with each company limited to three participants across all sessions. The Department of the Army Materiel Command published this notice to facilitate pre-award engagement with industry partners and gather feedback to shape the government's procurement approach.
The primary objective of this industry engagement is to advance the SAWS pre-award effort by obtaining industry feedback that will inform the Army's evaluation methodology for upcoming contract awards. Interested contractors must submit advance questions or feedback regarding the draft SAWS Request for Proposal (RFP) by April 7, 2026, using the designated feedback form. Eligibility criteria for participation in the subsequent procurement include DDTC registration, Federal Firearms License Type 11, active System for Award Management (SAM) registration, and prior Arms/Ammunition/Explosives contract experience within the last five years. The government plans to award multiple firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts with a five-year performance period (FY27-FY32) covering 646 Federal Supply Class codes across weapons, ammunition, guided missiles, vehicles, and related equipment. Solicitation issuance is anticipated in June 2026, with contract awards expected by December 2026, and awardees will receive a minimum $1,000 guarantee delivery order for Contract Data Requirements List deliverables.
