About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 2, is conducting a market research Sources Sought Notice for the procurement of radiation safety badges to serve the New York Harbor Healthcare System's Brooklyn and Manhattan campuses. The requirement encompasses three categories of radiation safety dosimetry products: whole body dosimeters (Luxel+ and InLight brands or equivalent), ring dosimeters for extremity monitoring (Saturn Ring or equivalent), and neutron dosimeters (Neutrak or equivalent). A critical qualification for prospective contractors is that they must hold current personnel dosimetry accreditation from the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The agency is seeking to identify small business manufacturers or distributors capable of supplying brand name or equivalent products that comply with state and federal regulations governing radioisotope and X-ray equipment use. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice must be submitted by January 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time to Contracting Officer Janelle Bonafede at Janelle.Bonafede@va.gov, with the solicitation number 36C24226Q0303.

This procurement is structured as a requirements contract with five one-year ordering periods spanning May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2031, with no set-aside designations applied. Annual requirements include approximately 2,060 P1 whole body badges, 844 U1 whole body badges, 531 J1 neutron badges for monthly wearers, plus 856 P1 and 126 U1 quarterly badges, distributed proportionally between Brooklyn VA Medical Center and Margaret Cochran Corbin VAMC in Manhattan. Beyond badge supply, the contract requires ancillary services including forms processing (410 forms annually), exposure reports (344 reports annually), emergency processing, handling of late or unreturned badges (400 annually), termination forms (80 annually), and setup services (80 annually). The contract quantity and service requirements remain consistent across all five ordering periods, with no specific budget ceiling disclosed in this market research notice. While this Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and does not obligate the government to issue a formal solicitation, interested parties should use this opportunity to establish their capabilities and interest in this requirement.
