About this opportunity

The National Park Service Intermountain Region seeks annual fire extinguisher inspection and servicing at Glacier National Park, with quotes due July 27, 2026, and questions due July 17, 2026. The procurement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside, restricting competition to small businesses registered as active in SAM.gov at time of quote submission, award, and throughout contract performance.

Place of performance is Glacier National Park, Montana, encompassing both East and West Glacier locations. The scope covers approximately 900 fire extinguishers distributed across campgrounds, lodges, visitor centers, administrative buildings, ranger stations, housing units, fleet vehicles, and specialized facilities including paint shops and IT areas. Services required include annual inspections, six-year internal inspections, hydrostatic testing, recharging, and replacements, all in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, and equipment, including a mobile service van capable of recharging and hydrostatic operations. Approximately 450 miles of travel across East and West sides is anticipated. The contractor is responsible for securing lodging and meals, though GLAC will provide an escort.

The anticipated period of performance begins August 1, 2026, and must be completed by August 31, 2026, with the timing accommodating winter road closures. The incumbent contractor was Alpha Fire Protection LLC under contract 140P1425P0074 with a previous award of $17,100.00. The contract is firm-fixed price for a single base year with no option years.

Award is anticipated on or before July 31, 2026. Service Contract Act wage determinations apply, with health and welfare benefits of $5.55 per hour (up to 40 hours per week) for applicable occupations. Evaluation criteria are price, technical capability, and prior experience. Amendment 0002 (July 20) provided revised Statement of Work and government responses to questions; Amendment 0001 (July 9) provided missing West Glacier inventory attachment.
