Proposed Solicitation Issue Date: Estimated on/about March 18, 2019
Title of Project: Sperry Chalet Restoration Phase 2, GLAC 246349
Description:
The historic dormitory at Sperry Chalet sustained significant fire damage in the 2017 Sprague Fire. All wood elements of the building were lost but the stone walls remained. Phase 1 work was completed on the structure in October 2018 and those efforts provided permanent stabilization with concrete foundation work and seismic stabilization of the floor, wall, and roof framing. This project is Phase 2 of the restoration and includes the remainder of the building finishes and permanent weather enclosure to the Sperry Chalet dormitory building. Specifically, this includes masonry repairs of the fire damaged stone walls, full enclosure of the building for windows and doors, roofing, and interior partitions and finishes.
Type of Procurement: A negotiated, firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The government will consider an offeror's technical capability in comparison to its price.
Estimated Price Range: $5,000,000 TO $10,000,000
Estimated Period of Performance: July 2019 - October 2019
Time for Contract Completion: The project is to be completed by 1 October 2019. Proposal receipt date is not known at this time. The actual date will be established in the solicitation documents.
This procurement is a Full and Open Competitive Acquisition. The small business size standard for NAICS 236220 is $36.5 million.
All responsible sources may submit an offer which, if submitted in a timely manner, will be considered. It is the policy of the government to provide maximum practicable opportunities in its acquisitions to small business, veteran-owned small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns. Such concerns must also have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate as subcontractors in the contracts awarded by any executive agency, consistent with efficient contract performance. All offerors are strongly encouraged to contact their local Small Business Administration Office, to post their need for qualified subcontractors at http://www.sba.gov .
