About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service seeks tree care services at its Forest Products Laboratory campus in Madison, Wisconsin, including removal of overgrown, dead, and hazardous branches and complete removal of injured or dead trees, with quotations due August 7 and questions due July 15. The procurement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 561730 with a mandatory site visit on July 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time.
Place of performance is Madison, Wisconsin. The awardee must be a licensed arborist. The contractor is responsible for all chipping, debris removal, and material disposal, including hauling all wood, branches, and chips off-site and leaving the premises clean and in good condition. Work will be performed during normal business hours Monday through Friday, with routine pruning of living trees scheduled during the fall dormant season except for emergency pruning addressing safety concerns. The Government will coordinate utility de-energizing for work near power lines and transformers. The scope includes 22 line items covering pruning and removal of species including Honey Locust, Maple, Oak, Ash, Pine, Crab Apple, and invasive species such as Buckthorn, Sumac, Juniper, and Yew. The contract period runs from July 31, 2026 to February 1, 2027, structured as a firm lump sum for an eight-month base period with no option line items. Service Contract Labor Standards apply with Wage Determination 2015-4897 Revision 31 in effect. This is a new contract with no incumbent. Award will be made to the highest technically rated offeror with acceptable or neutral past performance and fair and reasonable pricing, with one anticipated award. Offerors must provide firm pricing for all line items, submit an Experience Questionnaire, and attend the mandatory site visit.
