About this opportunity
Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC (BEA), on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory (INL), is seeking qualified vendors to provide fire barrier repair services across designated INL facilities. The procurement encompasses inspection and assessment of existing fire barriers, repair or replacement of damaged fire-rated walls, doors, and penetrations, application of approved firestop materials and sealants, and comprehensive documentation for quality assurance and regulatory compliance. All work must adhere to NFPA standards and DOE fire protection requirements to maintain facility safety and regulatory compliance. Interested vendors must submit an Expression of Interest by May 22, 2026, to Chase.Egbert@inl.gov, including company name and point of contact, description of relevant fire barrier repair capabilities and experience, NAICS codes and business size classification, and any existing DOE or federal contracting experience. Selected respondents from this preliminary screening phase will be invited to participate in a subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP) process for award consideration. The primary evaluation focus appears to be on vendors' demonstrated fire barrier repair expertise and prior experience with federal or DOE contracting.
No set-aside designations apply to this procurement opportunity. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific award values or budget ranges at this preliminary EOI stage. Work performed at INL facilities within the 890-square mile boundary is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act for contracts exceeding $2,000 and the INL Site Stabilization Agreement between signatory contractors and labor unions, which vendors must account for in their cost and resource planning. Construction work at Idaho Falls facilities is exempt from these prevailing wage and union agreement requirements. The primary NAICS category identified is 238310 (Drywall and Insulation Contractors), though the actual scope may encompass broader construction and specialty repair services.
