About this opportunity

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), under the Department of Justice, published this Special Notice to invite industry participation in a Facilities Management (Infrastructure) Industry Day event scheduled for February 24-26, 2026, in Grand Prairie, Texas. This no-cost networking and business development forum is designed to bring together BOP representatives and contractors who specialize in facilities construction and maintenance. The event serves as a pre-solicitation opportunity for vendors to learn about upcoming contract opportunities and engage directly with BOP staff across multiple infrastructure disciplines.

The primary objective of the Industry Day is to connect BOP leadership with contractors capable of supporting critical facilities projects in areas including roofing, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems, boiler/chiller services, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, security electronics, and general construction services. All interested contractors must complete and submit a registration form to bop-adm-fmbchief-s@bop.gov by February 5, 2026, at 3:30 PM CST, with the subject line "Facilities Management (Infrastructure) Industry Day." Attendance at the secure facility requires pre-approval and advance listing on the registration form. The BOP has released presolicitation briefings detailing four major infrastructure initiatives: a $61.2 million roofing modernization program spanning 31 projects, a $660 million MEP systems modernization effort encompassing 207 projects, a fire alarm system replacement initiative valued at $15.9 million across 12 institutions, and a security electronics replacement/upgrade project involving stun/lethal fence replacement, LiDAR detection system installation, and radio system modernization. These initiatives will be grouped by work type and geographic location, issued competitively over multiple fiscal years, and may incorporate inmate labor participation where appropriate.
