About this opportunity

The US Embassy Pretoria intends to solicit residential curtain cleaning and window treatment services with an Expression of Interest due June 5, 2026; no set-aside applies. The procurement covers taking down, cleaning to manufacturer specifications, and reinstalling drapes, voiles, blinds, and related hardware in residential properties occupied by US Government personnel at the Embassy.

Work scope includes inspecting and documenting window treatment condition, boxing and storing removed items in a secure offsite location, cleaning all windowpanes and security grills before reinstallation, verifying hardware functionality and replacing components as necessary, and delivering replaced items to the GSO Warehouse. The contractor must use drop sheets and protective materials to prevent property damage, maintain site cleanliness, provide appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to employees, and comply with local Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations. An English-proficient onsite supervisor must serve as the point of contact with Embassy staff.

The US Embassy issues fixed-price contracts only; contractors must account for exchange rate and price fluctuations within their quoted price with no adjustments permitted after order placement. Payment will be made via Electronic Funds Transfer within 30 calendar days of service delivery and invoice receipt, whichever is later; no deposit payments are authorized. All contractor employees assigned to Embassy properties must undergo background investigation and security clearance approval from the Regional Security Office. The Embassy does not sign legal documents or credit applications; submission of a company profile constitutes waiver of such requirements. Responses should be directed to dekockc@state.gov and kriekjx@state.gov.
