About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations intends to issue a firm-fixed-price purchase order for Digital Just for Mouse Stereotaxic Instruments, with award anticipated approximately ten days after the June 24, 2026 notice date, contingent on evaluation of capability statements due by July 2, 2026 at 11:00 p.m. EDT. This is a total small business set-aside; NIH currently intends to award to Stoelting Co., but will consider written capability statements from 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, and women-owned small businesses that demonstrate ability to perform the requirement. NIH reserves sole discretion to compete the award based on received responses.
The equipment supports ongoing laboratory studies investigating immunobiology of brain tumors using orthotopic glioblastoma models. The existing stereotaxic equipment is aging, unreliable, and approaching end-of-service support as current studies have expanded. The requested stereotaxic stage represents the same platform currently in use; continued use is essential to maintain consistency in experimental procedures, ensure data comparability, and preserve the integrity of longitudinal research projects. Transitioning to different equipment would require protocol revalidation, personnel retraining, and assessment of positioning accuracy differences, resulting in additional costs, delays, and research risks.
Capability statements should be emailed to david.shen@nih.gov.
