About this opportunity

The Federal Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office is conducting market research for the procurement of dialyzers used in hemo-dialysis at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri. The agency seeks to award an Indefinite/Requirements contract with a base year and four 12-month option years using firm-fixed pricing for two specific dialyzer types: Large Dialyzers (F250NRe) and Small Dialyzers (F200NRe). Both dialyzer types must meet stringent technical specifications including specific membrane composition (Cellouse Triacetate or polysulfone/polyethersulfone), gamma irradiation or electron beam sterilization, precise membrane dimensions, and detailed performance requirements for surface area, priming volume, ultra-filtration coefficients, and clearance rates for various substances including urea, creatinine, phosphate, and B-12. The procurement requires vendors to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and capable of providing firm fixed unit prices for the contract duration. Responses to the Market Research Questionnaire must be submitted via GSAeBuy by July 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM EST, with delivery requirements specifying shipments in cases of 12 or 24 units during business hours Monday through Friday.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designation and is open to all qualified vendors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation documents. The contract's scope is substantial, with annual requirements ranging from 24,960 to 28,080 dialyzer units based on a patient census fluctuating between 160 and 180 individuals. Deliveries must be completed within five business days of receiving delivery orders and made to the Springfield facility between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM Central Time, excluding federal holidays. The contract structure spans five years total with the base period plus four option years, providing long-term supply stability for the medical center's dialysis operations. While specific dollar values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the high volume requirements and specialized medical equipment nature suggest a significant contract value for the successful vendor.
