About this opportunity
The Defense Finance and Accounting Service Indianapolis (DFAS-IN) is seeking sources to purchase six microfiche scanners with associated maintenance and support services. The contract will consist of a one-year base period with two additional one-year option periods for ongoing maintenance and software support. Key requirements include scanners with high-throughput capabilities (200 ppm or more), auto-loading functionality, and a two-hour response time for on-site support specifically for Military Payroll microfiche scanning operations. Interested vendors must submit a Contractor Capability Survey, estimated pricing, past performance information, and a three-page Capability Statement by December 6, 2024, at 4pm EST to the designated government contacts. Evaluation will likely focus on technical capabilities, vendor experience, and ability to meet the specific scanner and maintenance requirements outlined in the Statement of Work.
The opportunity is set aside for small businesses, with specific encouragement for 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, and women-owned small business participants. While no specific budget range was disclosed, the procurement involves six scanner units with multi-year maintenance support, suggesting a potentially significant contract value. The scanners must meet or exceed the specifications of the MACH 7 scanner, with requirements including dual camera technology, USB port availability, and comprehensive digitization capabilities. The contract is classified under NAICS category 334118 for Computer Terminal and Other Computer Peripheral Equipment Manufacturing, and PSC category 7E20 for IT and Telecom End User equipment. This pre-solicitation notice is explicitly for market research purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation, allowing DFAS-IN to gather information about potential vendor capabilities and market readiness.
