About this opportunity
The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), part of the National Institutes of Health, is seeking a Contract Research Organization (CRO) to perform single-cell multiomics profiling services for Human Discovery Panel analysis. The contractor must analyze 33 human pluripotent stem cell-derived sensory neuron samples provided by NCATS, combining single-cell RNA sequencing with DNA barcoded antibodies targeting up to 325 distinct proteins under different inflammatory conditions. The objective is to provide NCATS with transcriptomic and proteomic data on alterations during inflammatory sensitization in these specialized neurons. This procurement falls under NAICS code 541714 for Research and Development in Biotechnology, with responses due by September 9, 2025. Interested parties must submit capability statements that include unit pricing, delivery terms, payment discounts, and maintain active SAM registration.
Despite the pre-solicitation notice indicating a Total Small Business set-aside, the accompanying Notice of Intent to Sole Source reveals NCATS intends to award this contract non-competitively to Proteintech Group, Inc. The contract will utilize Simplified Acquisition Procedures and requires specific deliverables including 2 MultiPro Human Discovery Panel units, 8 MultiPro Human Enhanced Blocking Reagent units, and 1 Genomics Analysis Service. The work involves processing exactly 33 samples of hPSC-SNs under various inflammatory conditions, with the contractor required to prepare, sequence, and deliver the resulting single-cell multiomic data to NCATS upon completion. The NAICS size standard for this biotechnology research contract is set at 1,000 employees, and all submissions must be made electronically to the designated Contract Specialist and Contracts Officer.
Notice text
NCATS requires a contract research organization (CRO) to perform Human Discovery Panel (HDP) analysis to obtain single-cell multiomic data that shall inform NCATS on transcriptomic and proteomic alterations during inflammatory sensitization in human pluripotent stem cellderived sensory neurons (hPSC-SNs). Capable vendors must prepare and sequence a total of 33 samples (provided by NCATS), and will provide NCATS the data upon completion.
The Contractor shall provide a single-cell multi-nomics platform that allows combined single-cell RNA sequencing with DNA barcoded antibodies that target up to 325 distinct proteins for 33 sample hPSC-SNs under different inflammatory conditions.
Activities shall include the following:
MultiPro Human Discovery Panel; - Quantity 2.
MultiPro Human Enhanced Blocking Reagent; Quantity 8
Genomics Analysis Service; Quantity 1
