About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is seeking a contractor to perform condenser and coil replacement services at Building 81 of the American Lake VA Medical Center located in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. The project involves two primary tasks: replacing the AHU-5 Inter-City Products unit's evaporator coil, refrigeration piping, insulation, and outdoor condensing unit, and replacing the AHU-9 McQuay unit's evaporator coil, rooftop condensing unit, and refrigeration piping. Contractors must provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision while ensuring compliance with VA safety, mechanical, and environmental requirements. The solicitation is identified by number 36C26025Q0257, with responses due by February 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM ET. The procurement falls under NAICS code 238220 for Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors and PSC code 4120 for Air Conditioning Equipment.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. While specific award values are not explicitly stated, the project involves approximately 200 feet of refrigeration piping replacement across two separate air handling units and requires custom coil and condensing unit installations. The work will be performed at the VA Medical Center's Building 81, with contractors expected to complete tasks that include removing existing equipment, installing new components, and ensuring proper integration of the new systems. The VA Network Contracting Office 20 in Vancouver, Washington, will manage the procurement, with Adam Hill serving as the point of contact. No recovery act funds are associated with this procurement, and the project appears to be a targeted maintenance and upgrade initiative for the medical center's HVAC infrastructure.
