About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting a market survey to identify potential suppliers for high-purity argon and nitrogen gases, along with associated cryogenic tank leasing and installation services at Tinker Air Force Base. The procurement is specifically for supporting metal 3D printing operations in the REACT Lab, with requirements including 99.996% pure argon and 99.999% pure nitrogen gases. Potential vendors must submit a detailed response by May 26, 2025, including a completed Contractor Capability Survey and supporting documentation demonstrating experience and quality control processes. The government seeks to transition from compressed gas cylinders to a bulk cryogenic system to enhance safety and operational efficiency. Interested companies are encouraged to provide comprehensive information about their capabilities, past similar projects, and potential limitations in meeting the specified requirements.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside for small or disadvantaged businesses, and welcomes participation from both large and small businesses, including joint ventures and teaming arrangements. The initial contract estimates a minimum purchase of 1,500 liters of argon and 1,610 liters of nitrogen, with annual estimated purchases of 28,000 liters of argon and 33,000 liters of nitrogen. The tanks will be leased for an initial 12-month period with an option for an 18-month extension. The contract requires the selected contractor to provide gas with specific purity classifications, deliver gases on a "fill by call" basis, install the supply system per NFPA 55 standards, and handle all tank certifications and eventual tank removal. The point of contact for questions is Bryce Williams, a Contracts and Program Management Specialist, who can be reached at (405) 622-7847 or bryce.williams.4@us.af.mil.
