About this opportunity

The U.S. Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal is seeking a catering contractor for its Independence Day celebration on July 16, 2025, from 19:00-22:00 hours. The Department of State is soliciting quotations for comprehensive catering services to support an event with an estimated 950 guests and a "Road Trip" theme. Qualified contractors must have local facilities for menu tasting, which will be part of the technical evaluation process. Prospective offerors are required to attend a mandatory site visit on April 10, 2025, and submit their quotations via email to LisbonProcure@state.gov by May 2, 2025, at close of business. The U.S. Government intends to award the contract to the most responsible company submitting the lowest technically acceptable quotation, potentially without further discussions, and all bidders must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).

The solicitation is not set aside for any specific category of business and is open to all qualified contractors. The catering service must provide six large food stations, two dessert tables, and four beverage stations featuring a variety of American cuisine options, including eight savory items, four snacks, and three desserts. Waitstaff requirements include a minimum of four servers per station, dressed in specific attire of black pants, white long-sleeved button-down shirts, and black bow ties. The event will be held in the Embassy courtyard, with the contractor responsible for providing all necessary equipment, including glassware, tablecloths, cooking, and serving implements. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract will cover a single event with comprehensive catering services for nearly 1,000 guests, representing a potentially significant opportunity for a local catering contractor in Lisbon, Portugal.
