About this opportunity
The National Park Service Northeast Region seeks fiber and ethernet cable installation services at Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with quotes due June 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 238210.
Place of performance is Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The government anticipates awarding one firm-fixed-price purchase order with performance from July 27 through October 31, 2026. Work scope includes removal of existing ethernet infrastructure from the Wilkinson and Slater Mill buildings and installation of new fiber optic and ethernet cables, nine security cameras, and hardwired and solar-powered flood lights. All ethernet cables running outside buildings must be sealed. The contractor must supply CAT 6a cables, Cisco network switches, patch panels, UPS backup, AXIS panoramic cameras, and flood lights—all new, unused, and TAA compliant. All technicians must hold electrical certification and/or Certified Fiber Optic Technician credentials or equivalent certifications from reputable local or state entities; manufacturer-specific certifications are not required, and demonstrated experience with similar systems may be acceptable.
Work is limited to Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding weekends, park special events, and American public holidays without Contracting Officer approval. The project must comply with ANSI/TIA-568-B.2-1, National Park Service cabling standards, NEC, and IEEE 802 standards.
Evaluation criteria are Technical Capability (rated Acceptable or Unacceptable), Past Performance (minimum three recent and relevant projects completed within five years with customer references), and Price (lowest-priced, responsible offer). All pricing must remain valid for 90 days from receipt. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for May 14, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET. Questions are due June 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET to Samuel McKenzie at Samuel_McKenzie@ios.doi.gov. Amendment 0002, effective June 1, 2026, posted RFIs 7–21; offerors must acknowledge receipt of all amendments prior to quote submission or risk rejection.
