About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security U.S. Coast Guard seeks replacement of forty-seven fire-rated commercial wood doors at Building 24/26, Coast Guard Base Alameda, with proposals due August 14 and questions due July 31. The procurement is a total small business set-away under NAICS 238290, foreclosing competition outside that category.
Place of performance is Alameda, California. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, and equipment to complete work within 60 days of award. Door specifications include forty-two bedroom doors (84" × 35.5") requiring automatic closure devices and BEST 7-pin SFIC-compatible locksets with peep sights; two wing doors (79" × 35.75") with closures and handles; two office doors in different sizes (79" × 35.5" and 79" × 29.5") with locksets; and one laundry room door (79" × 35.5" with 27.5" × 22" window). All doors must be minimum 20-minute solid core construction with stain and clear coat finishes matching existing doors. The government will furnish forty-seven BEST cores. Doors are supplied as slabs only; contractor verifies exact dimensions post-award. All contractor personnel require background checks and base access authorization, with Real ID-compliant identification mandatory. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Work is restricted to no more than half the building at any time.
The estimated project value is between $25,000 and $100,000, with firm fixed-price contract type. A payment bond or letter of credit at 100% of contract price is required within 10 days of award. Work must commence within 15 calendar days of Notice to Proceed. A mandatory site visit was held July 29, 2026. Evaluation is based on technical approach (acceptability of materials, personnel, and equipment plans) and pricing, with award to the lowest-priced, responsible offeror. The PSC code is Z1FC.
