About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers section from a federal solicitation addressing door procurement and installation requirements.
The contractor is responsible for providing 47 doors in various configurations: Office Door 1 (1 unit, 79"x35.5"), Office Door 2 (1 unit, 79"x29.5"), Wing Doors (2 units, 79"x35.75"), Room Doors (42 units, 84"x35.5"), and Laundry Room Door (1 unit, 79"x35.5" with 27.5"x22" window). All measurements are approximate, and the contractor must verify exact dimensions after award and before ordering. Ceiling height throughout is 8 feet. Doors shall be provided as slabs only to fit existing frames, with an approximate thickness of 1-3/4". The contractor must finish doors to match existing conditions and outfit them with hardware including kickplates, handles, locking mechanisms, closures, windows, and peepholes as shown in reference photographs. The documents indicate that Wing Doors require handles, kick plates, and closers; Office Doors require kick plates, handles, and locking mechanisms; Room Doors require peeps, kick plates, handles, and locking mechanisms; and the Laundry Room Door requires a kick plate, handle, and window. The contractor is not responsible for painting doors, but must finish them to match existing standards. The Government plans to paint the facility and frames separately later in the year.
