About this opportunity

The United States Air Force, specifically AFLCMC/PZIBA at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify potential sources for an Automatic Dry Gas Evaporation System for the Aerospace Fuels Laboratory at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The system is classified under NAICS code 334516 for Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a business size standard of 1,000 employees. Interested firms must submit a capabilities package by 1:00 PM ET on May 12, 2025, to matthew.shofner.1@us.af.mil and amanda.hoyng@us.af.mil, demonstrating their ability to provide the required equipment. Respondents are required to indicate their socio-economic status and address potential subcontracting considerations. The evaluation criteria will focus on the firms' capabilities to meet the technical specifications outlined in the Statement of Work, with the government using these capability statements to determine whether a future solicitation will be a full and open competition or a small business set-aside.

The procurement currently has no specific set-aside designation, though the government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based on responses received. The contract requires the delivery of a sophisticated evaporation system with specific technical requirements, including vortex action, nitrogen blow-down, and controlled heat for solvent evaporation. The system must be electronically configured for 115V single-phase power, weigh less than 150 pounds, and have specific dimensional constraints. Delivery and installation are required within 12 weeks after contract award, with the system to be delivered to the Aerospace Fuels Laboratory at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database, and the system must include sixteen graduated sample tubes, sixteen PTFE tube caps, two stainless steel sample tube racks, and electronic manuals, with a one-year warranty included.
