About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the Department of Veterans Affairs indicates intent to award a sole source contract to the University of Illinois at Chicago. The five-year agreement would provide veterans access to advanced neuroimaging sequences through the University's 3T GE Discovery MR 750 System located at their Center for MR Research.

The purpose of the Special Notice is to negotiate a contract for the University of Illinois Chicago to provide use of a 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner to the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. The scanner must be capable of running specific functional and structural sequences, including 3-D volume MPRAGE T1, resting state fMRI and diffusion tensor imaging. As the only facility meeting the specialized equipment, expertise, and proximity requirements to support the study aims near the Hines VA medical center, the University of Illinois Chicago is considered the sole supplier without risk of higher costs or project delays. Interested parties had until February 8, 2024 to contact the contracting officer regarding this planned sole source award.
