About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Seattle is seeking to procure a motor, brake, encoder, and half-coupling assembly for the spillway crane at Albeni Falls Dam through solicitation W912DW25Q0034. The procurement specifies a 60 HP, 1200 RPM, 460 volt AC, 3-phase, 60 Hz inverter-duty motor with precise technical requirements including a constant-torque speed range of 1000:1, stub shaft, C-face connection, and totally enclosed construction with Class B temperature rise insulation. A critical requirement is that the dimensional specifications of the furnished assembly must not exceed those of existing equipment to maintain essential clearances with other hoist machinery at the installation site. The solicitation requires submittals for approval to ensure all requirements are met prior to equipment purchase, and all furnished equipment must include a minimum one-year warranty covering parts, labor, and workmanship. The current response deadline is August 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM PDT, following two amendments that extended the original June 19, 2025 deadline.
The solicitation was initially designated as a small business set-aside but Amendment 2 removed this restriction, opening the opportunity to both small and large businesses. The procurement calls for a quantity of one complete motor, brake, encoder, and coupling assembly unit. Performance will take place at the Albeni Falls Dam Project Office in Oldtown, Idaho 83822, where the government will install the furnished equipment. The solicitation falls under NAICS code 335312 for Motor and Generator Manufacturing and PSC code 6105 for Motors, Electrical. While specific contract values are not disclosed in the available documentation, the technical complexity and specialized nature of the equipment suggest this is a significant procurement for critical dam infrastructure maintenance.
