About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Life Cycle Material Command (AFLCMC), through the GSA Federal Acquisition Service, is seeking heat treat furnaces to support controlled heating and cooling processes for altering the physical and mechanical properties of metals. The procurement requires dual-chamber furnaces with specific temperature capabilities (upper chamber maximum 500°F, lower chamber maximum 1200°F) that must comply with stringent technical specifications including SAE AMS 2750 standards, programmable controllers, and comprehensive safety features. The solicitation is being conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12 for commercial products and services, with evaluation based on the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) methodology. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit complete pricing for all items by the June 25, 2025 deadline at 2:00 PM Central Time. The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price, single-award supply contract with a performance period of 365 days after contract issuance.
This procurement is designated as full and open competition with no set-aside restrictions, making it available to all qualified contractors meeting the technical specifications. The government is seeking to procure a total of 38 heat treat furnaces, with 13 units meeting technical specifications and 25 units conforming to commercial item descriptions. Performance will occur across multiple locations including Hurlburt Field, Florida, and over 40 other Air Force installations both within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS), including locations in Germany and South Korea. The contractor will be responsible for CONUS shipments and delivery, while AFLCMC will manage OCONUS shipments, with specific packaging and preservation requirements outlined in the special packaging instructions for industrial plant equipment weighing between 1,000 and 30,000 pounds.
