Work includes installation of nine wall-mounted evaporator units in specified insect rearing rooms within Building 543000B067, nine outdoor condenser/compressor units on the south facade, comprehensive electrical work with conduit, wiring, nine 20-amp receptacles for indoor units and nine 25-amp fused disconnects for outdoor units, and integration of all systems into the existing Johnson Controls METASYS building automation platform with programmed shutdown during central heating operation and staggered 3-minute startup delays. Refrigerant linesets must have global warming potential below 700 in accordance with EPA AIM Act standards. The contractor must obtain all required permits, licenses, and inspections and provide a one-year warranty from final acceptance. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for September 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at 1515 College Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
The period of performance requires work to commence within 10 calendar days after notice to proceed and be completed within 60 calendar days. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to a single offeror. Davis Bacon wage requirements apply. IAW Attachment 1 - Statement of Work, Contractor shall furnish a cost proposal to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to increase cooling capacity in nine insect rearing rooms within Building 543000B067 at the USDA Center for Grain and Animal Health Research (CGAHR) in Manhattan, Kansas. This requirement includes the installation of
nine (9) 24,000 BTU ductless mini‑split systems, associated electrical and mechanical work, and integration with the existing Johnson Controls METASYS building automation system. Contractor shall provide a detailed cost proposal which demonstrates unit priced labor and materials costs. The contractor shall work with the site personnel to ensure project is accomplished in a timely manner.
