About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 21 intends to procure three Philips X8-2t Transesophageal Echo Transducer (TEE) Probes through Request for Quote 36C26125Q0848. This procurement is being conducted on a brand name or equal basis for medical equipment that will be used at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in California. The requirement is structured as a Firm-Fixed Price, FOB Destination contract with NAICS code 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) and Product Service Code 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies). Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and complete electronic annual representations and certifications as required by FAR 4.12 and 4.11. The solicitation is expected to be released on or around August 13, 2025, with responses due by August 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time. Questions regarding the RFQ should be directed to Yuliya Kochkina at Yuliya.Kochkina@va.gov with the RFQ number in the subject line.
This procurement is designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside, requiring vendors to verify their status in the Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) database at both the time of offer submission and award. Non-Original Equipment Manufacturer firms must include an Authorized Distributor Letter with their quotations to demonstrate their authorization to sell the specified equipment. The procurement specifically calls for three units of the Philips X8-2t transesophageal echo probes, which are specialized medical devices used in anesthesiology and cardiac procedures. While no specific contract value or budget range is provided in the pre-solicitation notice, the procurement follows standard federal acquisition procedures with all amendments to be posted on SAM.gov. The relatively short response timeframe of six days from solicitation release to submission deadline suggests this is a straightforward commercial item procurement with established specifications and pricing.
