About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 issued a Notice of Intent to sole source Stryker orthopedic and podiatry instrument sets to Howmedica Osteonics, Inc. DBA Stryker Orthopaedics, with responses due by 4:00 PM Mountain Time on May 12, 2026. The procurement covers six items: Alpha GT, PLFT20 ORIF, PSF T8 T15 ORIF, ASNIS 65 80, Omega Hip, and Infinity Adaptis Total Ankle systems, one unit each. The sole source justification rests on Stryker's proprietary screw-head design, which is compatible exclusively with the Stryker surgical drills already deployed at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. Competing manufacturers use incompatible proprietary systems; transitioning to an alternative would require complete replacement of surgical drills, instrumentation, and associated implant systems. Interested parties may submit capability statements and supporting documentation (specifications, cut sheets, brochures) demonstrating ability to meet the Government's stated needs to Christopher.Hollingsworth2@va.gov. The NAICS code is 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing) with a business size standard of 750 employees. This is not a competitive procurement; the Government reserves the right not to compete based on submitted responses.
