About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to award a sole source contract for the rental and maintenance of Gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopes for the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. The VA intends to award a one-year base contract with two one-year option periods to Olympus America Inc. The VA requires 29 specific Olympus GI scope models and states that Olympus is the only source that can provide the required scopes and maintenance due to the proprietary and highly specialized nature of the equipment. Prospective contractors who believe they can meet the requirements must provide detailed technical documentation by May 20, 2024 at 9:00 AM PST for consideration.
This procurement is not set-aside. The current incumbent contractor is Olympus America Inc., who is the only authorized provider for the required GI scopes and maintenance services. No formal solicitation package will be issued, and the VA will not be responsible for any costs incurred in the preparation of responses to this announcement. If no responses are received, the Government will continue with its sole source procurement with Olympus America Inc.
