About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 10, specifically the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, has published a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a purchase order for replacement monitors for medical equipment. The procurement is for Skytron LLC, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, under Solicitation Number 36C25026Q0203. The notice falls under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures authority of FAR 6.103-1 and is classified under NAICS code 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies). This sole source procurement is being pursued because the VA Ann Arbor Medical Service Cardiology Department requires replacement monitors for a Skytron SkyVision Ascend IP TAVR Video Integration Unit that has become non-functional in the TAVR Lab Room E-747.

The primary objective of this procurement is to obtain replacement monitors and fiber optic cabling for the existing Skytron equipment currently installed in the TAVR Lab, which controls surgical displays, wall displays, surgical lights, and in-light surgical cameras. The VA asserts that only Skytron possesses the required capabilities to meet this requirement, as the replacement system is the only equipment that can integrate with the existing Skytron infrastructure and multiple monitor configurations already in place. Interested contractors must submit responses by January 9, 2026, at 4:30 PM Eastern Time. The procurement will be awarded as a firm fixed-price purchase order and requires that installation and deinstallation be performed by an authorized installer for Skytron Ascend IP equipment. Only Skytron LLC is eligible to participate in this sole source procurement, as the government has determined that no other firm possesses the specialized capabilities necessary to meet the integration and technical requirements of this replacement equipment.
