About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically Network Contracting Office 10, is seeking to procure specialized medical scanning equipment, including NuTracee R+ Scanners and Zebra Scanner DS 8178, for the Richard L. Roudebush VAMC located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This procurement is a limited-source acquisition strictly restricted to two authorized distributors: Martin AIJS, LLC and Anthem Surgical Instrument Services, in compliance with FAR 6.302-1 procurement regulations. The solicitation (Number 36C25025Q0461) will be executed as a firm-fixed price purchase order utilizing FAR Part 13 procedures, with a response deadline of June 3, 2025. The contract falls under NAICS code 339112 for Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1000 employees. Interested parties can contact Contract Specialist Rachel MacRae at rachel.macrae@va.gov for additional information, and the initial solicitation was issued to authorized distributors on April 8, 2025.
The procurement does not include any specific set-aside designations and is currently in the Market Research Phase. No incumbent contractor details are explicitly mentioned beyond the two authorized distributors. While precise award values are not specified, the contract is structured as a purchase order for medical scanning equipment to be delivered to the VA medical center. The procurement targets specific scanner models: NuTracee R+ Scanners and Zebra Scanner DS 8178, suggesting a focused and precise equipment acquisition strategy. The solicitation's narrow distribution to only two authorized distributors indicates a highly specialized procurement process with limited competitive opportunities, likely due to unique technical requirements or proprietary equipment specifications.
