About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office published a Special Notice announcing plans to award a sole source contract. The Notice intends to negotiate a contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures with O.R. Elder, Inc. for an Alcon Constellation LXT-CR5 surgical system and handpiece for the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center's Ophthalmic Department.

The Special Notice seeks to procure this equipment on a sole source basis directly from the original equipment manufacturer due to issues of compatibility with existing systems. Interested parties have until February 14, 2024 to provide clear evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government in order to dispute the sole source determination. If awarded, the contract would run from February 19, 2024 to December 31, 2024 and include delivery, installation, and training for VA personnel on the surgical system and handpiece at the Ann Arbor VAMC. The total value of this requirement is $103,153.85.
