About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 17, is conducting market research to identify vendors for two E14CL4B Biplane Endocavity Transducers and two UA2507 Reprocessing Stainless Steel Trays, with responses due August 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM Central Time. The VA North Texas Health Care System (customer) seeks this equipment to restore critical ultrasound capability in Urology Surgical Service, which currently has no working biplane transducers and must support cancer diagnoses and increased patient volume. The government is specifically evaluating U.S. manufacturers.

The E14CL4B transducer must support transrectal, transvaginal, and urology applications with 14–4 MHz frequency range and 3–60 mm focal range. Required imaging modes include B-mode, M-mode, pulsed wave Doppler, color flow mapping (color and power Doppler), tissue harmonic imaging, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, strain elastography, and combination modes. The transducer must include two arrays enabling simultaneous biplane imaging (curved array for transverse, linear array for sagittal) to facilitate needle guidance during biopsy. Transverse sector spans 138 degrees; expanded sector 178 degrees; sagittal field is trapezoidal at 65 mm wide plus 2–15 degree expansion. Physical specifications include variable stiffness shaft, approximately 250 grams weight, and smart button functionality for image activation, storage, and printing.

Responses must include business registration status in SAM, NAICS code, business size, socioeconomic designation (SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, or other), applicable GSA or VA Federal Supply Schedule contract number, and place of manufacture. Submit to Contract Specialist Rafael Rodriguez at Rafael.Rodriguez2@va.gov with subject line "36C25726Q0689, Sources Sought Notice." This notice is market research only and does not constitute a binding solicitation.
