About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Network Contracting Office 02 has issued a Special Notice for a sole-source procurement to repair a G.A. Braun, Inc. Ironer 48 Precision Series Ironer located at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. This is a one-time service requirement with an estimated performance period from July 10, 2025, through August 10, 2025, with no option years. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811412 (Appliance Repair and Maintenance) with a size standard of $19 million. The agency intends to award this contract to G.A. Braun, Inc. as the original equipment manufacturer and sole authorized service provider. The notice emphasizes that this is not a request for competitive quotes but rather an intent to proceed with a single-source acquisition under FAR 13.106(b).
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community of the VA's intention to sole-source this repair service while providing an opportunity for other parties to demonstrate their capabilities. The justification for sole-source procurement centers on G.A. Braun, Inc.'s status as the OEM with proprietary equipment, in-house trained technicians, direct access to OEM parts, and the need to maintain manufacturer warranties. Interested parties must submit capability documentation by July 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST via email to Contract Specialist Jason M. Rundle with the subject line "RESPONSE TO INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE G.A.Braun." Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award consideration. The VA will not be responsible for any costs incurred by parties responding to this notice, and all submitted documents will not be returned.
