About this file
This is a contractor warranty letter template issued by the Clay County Board of County Commissioners for the Lake Geneva Restoration Project, a Phase I environmental restoration initiative in Florida. The warranty document establishes that all labor, materials, and work performed must comply with contract documents and authorized modifications, with a two-year warranty period commencing from the date of completion and acceptance by the Clay County Board of County Commissioners. The contractor must remedy any defects arising from improper materials, workmanship, or arrangement at no expense to the county and must respond to all warranty calls within twenty-four hours of notification. The mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Keystone Heights City Hall, with final bid submission due December 18, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., bid opening on December 19, 2025, and an estimated board recommendation date of January 13, 2026. The contract term is twenty-four months from execution with potential extensions for two additional twelve-month periods.
The warranty explicitly excludes coverage for work subjected to owner abuse or neglect, damage from Acts of God, or normal wear and tear, while reserving any additional warranties required by the contract documents. The warranty requires the contractor to provide signature, printed name, and date on the form. Contractors must maintain a five percent bid bond and a 100 percent Performance and Payment Bond if contract value exceeds $200,000, with Commercial General Liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate. The project is funded in part by a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Grant Agreement of $250,000 with no county match requirement. Liquidated damages are assessed at $100 per day for work completed past the final completion date, and work hours are restricted to Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise approved by the County Project Manager.
