About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a fire alarm system installation project at Fort Huachuca. The document clarifies technical requirements including the mandatory use of a Monaco MAAP-X or MAAP+ fire alarm panel that must be tied into an existing Notifier panel, and integration with a pre-action Novec suppression system. The facility is classified under NFPA occupancy standards rather than International Building Code, and all work must be approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (Post Fire Chief/Inspector).
Key technical specifications include compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA-72 guidelines, no requirement for scrolling message signs, and confirmation that the contractor must provide their own equipment including lifts. The document confirms architectural drawings are available for reference, clarifies that this is a design-build project based on the scope of work, and specifies that the Monaco panel will handle fire department communications. The building is described as an industrial facility housing a testing chamber with minimal occupancy of 1-2 people.
