About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a Fire Alarm System installation project at Fort Huachuca. The Q&A clarifies that the project is a design-build effort requiring installation of a Monaco MAAP-X or + panel, while maintaining an existing Notifier NFS-320 panel for the pre-action Novec suppression system. The building is classified under NFPA occupancy standards rather than International Building Code, and will be used for equipment testing with minimal personnel occupancy.
Key technical requirements include compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA-72 guidelines, installation of scrolling message signs above doors to display alarm status, and digital display capability for supervisory and trouble alarms. Design submissions must be approved by the Post Fire Chief/Inspector as the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). The building is described as an industrial facility housing a testing chamber, without offices or restrooms, typically occupied by only 1-2 people for equipment testing setup.
