About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers solar shingle roof replacement project at Fort Riley, Kansas. The solicitation (W9132T25RA001) seeks a contractor to replace asphalt shingles on a historic, single-story building (Building 265) with Tesla photovoltaic (PV) solar shingles, with the goal of demonstrating solar technology efficiency and resilience. Key details include a 1,476 sq ft roof deck, no battery backup requirement, and excess power to be returned to the installation's grid.
Potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), provide Tesla solar shingle installation certifications, and demonstrate relevant past performance. Responses are to be submitted via email to CERL-CT-Quotes@usace.army.mil by the specified date and time. An Independent Government Estimate has been prepared with funds available, though the exact budget was not disclosed. This is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor, and no specific pricing template was provided for the solicitation.
