a. Aircraft are susceptible to Foreign Object Damage (FOD) caused by small loose objects such as nuts, bolts, paper, cardboard, small pieces of wood, wire, sand, gravel, and glass. Most areas of Pease Air National Guard Base are susceptible to high wind. At all times, keep exterior work areas free of construction debris that may cause FOD to aircraft. The cost of repairing such damage to aircraft will be charged to the Contractor.
19. UTILITY OUTAGES:
a. Schedule utility outages through the Contracting Officer to accommodate the operational needs of the Government and, unless otherwise specified elsewhere, in accordance with the paragraph entitled herein “WORK SCHEDULE.” Utility outages require advance approval of the Contracting Officer. Submit requests for outages in writing, 72 hours in advance, to the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer’s Representative to permit coordination with all affected activities.
b. Water mains and fire hydrants shall not be shut off at any time by Contractor personnel. Notify the Contracting Officer and the Base Fire Department (at least 48 hours in advance) of the need to disrupt a water supply.
20. IDENTIFICATION OF EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS:
a. Affix to Contractor- or Subcontractor-owned machinery, motor vehicles, equipment, and tools, clearly legible identification showing the Contractor‘s or Subcontractor’s name, address and telephone number, so as to distinguish them from Government-owned items, and can be returned to the rightful owner if inadvertently left on Government property.

e) will have service organization, where one is specified, within easy access, and
f) will not increase the cost to the Government.
3) Attach a letter to the submittal explaining in detail any exception to the above and discussing immediate and potential impact to the project because of such exceptions.
22. TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND STORAGE
a. Arrange for timely transportation, delivery, receiving and storage of material, tools and equipment necessary for execution of the project.

3) Arrange to have construction material and equipment delivered directly to the project site by noting appropriate building number on the address. Do not address packages to the general Base mailing address, which would cause packages to be delivered to the Base mail room or supply depot, unless the use of such address is authorized by the Contracting Officer in advance.
4) Arrange deliveries of products in accordance with the construction schedule to avoid delays on one hand and excessively long period of storage on site on the other.
5) Unload, transport and store products arriving on site in a manner to avoid damage, and at a location directed by the Contracting Officer.
PART II - GENERAL CONDITIONS 8
SZCQ089023 REPLACE SQUADRON OPERATIONS FACILITIES

7) Store related component parts in a manner that will permit easy and sequential access as they are needed for installation or assembly.
8) Retain record of shipment, such as bills of lading or delivery tickets, and submit to the Contracting Officer if so requested.
9) Provide necessary protective material such as blankets, tarps, plastic sheets and sleepers to store delivered products well protected from elements and from accidental damages.
10) Replace any product damaged during unloading, on-site transportation, and storage with identical undamaged products at no additional cost to the Government.
b. Provide appropriate storage space for material, tools and equipment delivered to the site and not incorporated into the work.
1) Existing building space may be used for storage only if permitted by the Contracting Officer with concurrence of the building manager.
2) Where no space is available in a convenient existing building space, provide temporary storage structure(s) and place at a location as directed by the Contracting Officer.
3) If open outdoor storage is appropriate for the type of material, tools or equipment, provide adequate covering to protect the stored item from weather damages. Provide ventilation to avoid condensation damage.
4) Maintain storage space at temperature and humidity ranges appropriate for the item(s) stored.
5) Store loose granular materials on solid surfaces such as pavement, or provide plywood or sheet material to prevent mixing with foreign matter.
6) Take measures to prevent ground surface water from damaging stored material.
23. PROTECTION
a. Protect newly installed products to prevent damage from subsequent operations.
b. Protect existing items to remain from damage and soiling due to work under this contract.
c. Provide coverings, corner guards, barriers and other appropriate measures or devices to effect protection required above. Remove protective measures and devices when no longer needed and prior to completion of work.
24. SALVAGED MATERIALS
a. Store salvaged material and equipment that is specified to be reinstalled by the Contractor under this contract in a secure location in a manner that will prevent theft and damages. If material and equipment is lost, stolen or damaged, provide comparable product. If it is determined such loss or damage was due to Contractor negligence, provide replacement at no additional cost to the Government.
b. Deliver material specified to be salvaged and turned over to the Government to a location within the Base and neatly place in storage as directed by the Contracting Officer.
1) Notify the Contracting Officer at least 5 working days in advance of anticipated delivery date.
