CONTRACTOR INQUIRIES

By this Amendment 0005 and continued from Amendment 0004, the Chicago District, USACE provides its responses to contractor inquiries:

Q82. Which bid item does the metal stud wall framing, drywall and painting at the interior of the exterior walls in the office area fall under. Bid item 0001AD, or Bid item 0002AA?

USACE answer Q82: The building shell (completed walls with insulation) should be included under 0001AD. The interior walls (demised wall partitions) should be included under 0002AA.

Q83. On bid item 0004AA “Temporary Generator” section 260500, 2.2.11 says that the contractor is to furnish fuel, but it does not specify the fuel type. Please specify if a fuel type is required (i.e. Diesel, gas) USACE answer Q83: The specification does not specify a particular type of fuel that is required.

Q84. On bid item 0004AA “Temporary Generator” section 260500, 2.2.11 says that the contractor is to maintain the fuel level and operational checks for the period it is used by the government. The bid item states a period of 25 weeks. The cost of this item will vary based on run-time. Should we base the pricing for this item on a 24 / 7 period for 25 weeks?

USACE answer Q84: Yes. Section 26 05 00 of the specification states, “Generator Set shall be used to provide continuous power to the Storage Building.”
