About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document from a federal contract solicitation addressing scope of work clarification. The inquiry, submitted by PLDA Construction (located at 8700 McGrath Road, Manassas, VA 20112), seeks clarification regarding fire alarm system work that appears in the existing ceiling but is not mentioned in the project Statement of Work (SOW).
The contractor posed three specific questions: whether existing fire alarm system devices should be removed and reinstalled by the contractor or by others; if included in scope, the identity of the system manufacturer and point of contact; and whether third-party inspection or testing would be required if the work fell within scope. The government's response definitively states that fire alarm removal and reinstallation will be performed by others and is explicitly excluded from this project's scope of work, thereby clarifying the boundary of the contractor's responsibilities.
