About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing contractor inquiries regarding an interior renovation project at Fort Belvoir. The document clarifies scope requirements and responsibilities for lighting, ceiling, HVAC, doors, and site logistics.
Key requirements include: the contractor must submit a lighting plan specifying 2x2 LED dimmable fixtures, with the plan determining fixture quantity per room rather than a one-for-one replacement approach; supply diffusers and return grilles must align with the approved lighting plan; the contractor is responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting smoke detectors, speakers, and sensors; ceiling tile/grid specifications are included within the project scope; door repairs including sanding, prep work, and painting are contractor responsibilities; and dumpsters for trash removal are permitted at the loading dock. The government will remove all furniture and equipment prior to work commencement. All contractor personnel must obtain a Fort Belvoir pass for site access; escorts are not required. Materials/equipment transportation entry point is marked as not applicable.
