Inquiries and Government Responses: Three Story Barracks, Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM), WA.

1) In the insulation spec 230700: 2.3.2.2 and 2.3.3.3 narratives both allow elastomeric rubber on both cold and hot piping. But 3.2.1.6 Table 1 does not show rubber on the heating hot water and domestic hot water. Table 2 does not show rubber on the heating hot and line 1 does not show the material type on the 1.5” and 2” wall thickness line item. And then table 2 shows rubber on the domestic hot contradicting table 1. How did you interpret when deciding on inserts on the heating hot?

Government Response:

Elastomeric cellular insulation is allowed on the Heating Hot Water Supply & return and Domestic Water pipes.
