About this file
This solicitation is for maintenance dredging of the Hudson River Federal Navigation Project in New York. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks to remove approximately 130,000 cubic yards of sediment from two areas near Kingston and Germantown to a depth of -32 feet plus 1 foot of allowable overdepth. Dredged material consisting primarily of fine sand, silt and clay will be transported via hopper dredge or mechanical dredge to the government-furnished Houghtaling Island upland placement site for unloading. Bids will be accepted between June 19th and July 3rd, with award intended for August 1st and notice to proceed by August 15th. Liquidated damages of $1,271.70 per day will be assessed for delays in completion. The work is estimated to cost between $5-10 million. All necessary permits will be provided while the contractor must obtain a state park access permit. In-water work windows run from September 1st through November 31st at Kingston and September 1st through December 31st elsewhere due to regulatory restrictions.
