About this file
This solicitation is for maintenance dredging of the Hudson River Federal Navigation Project in New York. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks to remove approximately 130,000 cubic yards of sediment from two areas near Kingston and Germantown to a depth of -32 feet plus 1 foot of allowable overdepth. Dredged material consisting primarily of fine sand, silt and clay will be transported via hopper dredge or mechanical dredge to the government-furnished Houghtaling Island upland placement site for unloading. Bids will be accepted until July 3rd, 2020 with contract award anticipated for August 1st and notice to proceed on August 15th. Liquidated damages of $1,271.70 per day will be assessed for delays in substantial completion of dredging and placement work, which must be conducted between September 1st and December 31st at Kingston or September 1st and November 31st at Germantown due to regulatory restrictions. The work is estimated to cost between $5-10 million.
