About this file

This document provides details for a federal contract solicitation to perform improvements to the Dalecarlia Backwash Water Tanks for the Washington Aqueduct. The Washington Aqueduct division of the Baltimore District United States Army Corps of Engineers maintains and operates two water treatment plants, including the Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant, which filters and purifies water using dual media filters. When the filters require cleaning, high volumes of water are used in the backwashing process and stored in two wash water storage reservoirs at the Dalecarlia plant known as the Underground Tank and Elevated Tank. Both the supply facilities that provide water to the reservoirs and the waste facilities that recycle backwash water require modifications to restore infrastructure reliability and address sanitary deficiencies. The solicitation number is W912DR21B0008 and interested offerors should inspect the Dalecarlia Water Treatment Plant site prior to submitting a response.
