This map identifies the MEC sewers removed under the contract. Red lines identify MEC sewers on the contract. Green lines identify sewers that were encountered that were not in the contract.

Section 2: C: N-Line MEC Contamination Map.

Indicates areas where MEC contamination was found and the type of MEC. The bulk of energetic materials encountered in N-line were in the form of JPN propellant. The JPN encountered was in the form of paste, sheets, trimmed ends of propellant grains and chips. Some N-5 was encountered in the Machining and old rework areas, but was usually in the form of pieces and chips from the trimming of grains. Large amounts of MEC were encountered in the sewers in the north extension. With portions of the sewers being 50% full of JPN chips. The Catch Tank Houses (6809-1&2) held considerable amounts of JPN and were thermally decontaminated. Additional sewers B-119’s were found to contain considerable amounts of JPN chips and trimmings. Scaling in the pipes was more common in pipes and on blocks made of concrete. Only minimal amounts of propellants were found in interior pipes in several buildings.
