About this file
This document is a request for information regarding the rehabilitation of four turbine and generator units at the Robert S. Kerr Powerhouse in Oklahoma. The Army Corps of Engineers is seeking feedback from potential contractors on refurbishing the existing Kaplan-type turbines and rewinding the corresponding generators. The rehabilitation work will include replacing and refurbishing internal turbine components, rewinding the generators, and replacing or rehabilitating other necessary parts. The new generator stator windings will be rated at 42,000 KVA at a power factor of 0.9 with a temperature rise of 75 degrees Celsius above ambient. Generator stator core replacements will be optional. The goal of the RFI is to provide industry an opportunity to review specifications and drawings, and provide information on existing and emerging technologies that could support the project. Responses will be protected from unauthorized disclosure, though proprietary information must be marked. This is not a request for proposals and no contract will be awarded based on responses.
