Renewal of the USCG Certificate of Inspection will be performed during the repair availability, including completion of all Drydock Examination requirements.
The Annual Load Line Survey for renewal of the ABS Load Line Certificate will be performed during the repair availability.
The Government will contract with the ABS to perform all required inspections, and will inform the USCG that their services are required for inspections.
When such inspections are performed, the crew will perform them in the presence of the USCG Inspector or ABS Surveyor, unless otherwise specified in a contract Work Item. The Government will coordinate all inspections with the contractor to minimize any impact on the contractor’s work schedule.
The USCG may issue CG835 violations that require correction prior to the departure of the vessel from the contractor’s facility. Correction of these may require the contractor to perform repairs on an expedited basis to avoid delays to both the contractor’s and the Government’s work schedules. Payment for such corrections will be handled under a Modification of Contract or via a Miscellaneous Maintenance Work item.
The contractor is responsible for coordinating all ABS and USCG inspections on their work as specified, and shall provide the services of a QA representative to accompany the ABS and/or USCG whenever they are present on the vessel for inspection of contractor-performed repairs and tests.
The cost of the ABS Surveyor to witness additional inspections of contractor-performed work items that previously failed, or were not properly scheduled, shall be borne by the contractor and reimbursed to the Government via 2-Way Memorandum.

I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR WELDING
Only welders who have successfully passed the qualifications test of the ABS, the USN or the USCG for steel welding shall do all welding under this contract.
The contractor shall bear the expense of conducting these tests, and shall certify by name to the COR those welders who have successfully passed the prescribed tests. The contractor shall require any welder to repeat these tests when, in the opinion of the COR or his appointed representative, the work of the welder indicates a reasonable doubt of his efficiency. In such cases the welder shall be recertified as above.
The electrodes used throughout the work shall be suitable for use with the parent metal at each weld.
Electrodes shall be received on the job in unbroken packages bearing the manufacturers' label or be otherwise marked.
